Located in the courtyard of the art department at University of San Diego, a propsed awning centered between two exisiting structures is designed. Attached to the wall on one end, the canvas structurer is held up by steel rods and cables. Arching the entrance of the awning, allows for a new proposed entrance to Camino Hall, an existing building filled with classrooms and housing

The objective of this project was to create a uniformed attribute to the Art Department. The arch of my awning creates a new entrance to the Camino building, but adds ornamentation to an otherwise boring and run down space. The simplicity creates a large space for the department to use in sculpture, art and architecture classes. Shielding the courtyard with shade, it allows more creativity and collaboration to ebgin within these corridors.
